Houston Rockets Sign Courtney Fortson For Rest Of Season

That's right, the dread-headed point guard was rewarded for his recent play bygetting a contract for the rest of the regular season and a non-guaranteed second season added to it.

Though it was a great moment for Fortson, it was probably necessary for the Rockets, since they're so short on PGs right now. Goran Dragic rolled his ankle Monday night, but played Tuesday against the Mavericks. Backup Earl Boykins was literally just signed five seconds ago and Kyle Lowry may be out for a long time.

So far this season, Fortson has appeared in five games for Houston, averaging 7.2 minutes per game, 2.8 points per game, 1.2 rebounds per game and 0.8 assists per game. He's also shooting 31. percent from the field and has made just 1 of 7 3-pointers. That should change if he gets more time, as Fortson proved adept at shooting long-range in the D-League.
