Does Jordan Hill Mean More To Rockets Than We Think?

It's a good thing that Jordan Hill is returning soon from his knee injury. The Rockets sorely need his presence. This is what Houston coach Kevin McHale had to say before Sunday's loss to the Clippers:

"Believe me, that’s not a coincidence because if we’re not rebounding well, I usually throw Jordan in and Jordan goes gets you seven, eight," coach Kevin McHale said. "That’s been a problem for our team. That means everybody has to rebound better."

The Rockets have now been outrebounded for ten straight games and have been without Hill for seven of them. It's not a clear if/then relationship, but Hill's return certainly couldn't hurt.

I know Hill hasn't been nearly what the Rockets wanted when he was picked up from the Knicks. But, adding some toughness to the Rockets front court is very necessary. Samuel Dalembert isn't the only solution to front court depth and Pau Gasol won't fix things either.

No, the Rockets need Hill back and they need him back soon.
