With their third pick in the first round, the Rockets selected Kentucky forward Terrence Jones with the No. 18 overall pick.
The 6-foot-9, 252-pound Jones is an athletic player who can play either small forward or power forward. As a sophomore last season, Jones averaged 12.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He can face up as a power forward and take defenders off the dribble. He can hit the outside shot, although he has been inconsistent. He's also really good at finishing at the rim.
Similar to No. 16 pick Royce White, his frame doesn't give him a sure position. He creates matchup problems at both spots, but that goes both ways. There is concern that he isn't exceptional in any one trait, but he does have a solid arsenal of skills.
