Jeremy Lin Officially Signs Houston Rockets' Offer Sheet

Point guard Jeremy Lin officially signed an offer sheet from the Houston Rockets on Friday, giving the New York Knicks three days to match.

The Knicks have long vowed to match an offer, but a new detail could make the New York question things a little bit.

The Rockets fully guaranteed all three years of the contract and backloaded the deal, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The Rockets improved their offer to Lin by fully guaranteeing all three years on the contract, worth $25.1 million, a person with knowledge of the deal said. The Rockets backloaded the deal with $14.9 million due to Lin in the third season, making it a much greater luxury tax hit for the Knicks if they match.

After Goran Dragic signed with Phoenix and Kyle Lowry was traded to the Raptors, the Rockets need help at point guard, and Lin could move into a starting role.
