It is looking more and more that the Houston Rockets are going to miss out on acquiring superstar center Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic. There have been rumors flying around that Howard could be heading to the Los Angeles Lakers in a three-team deal.
Now, Local 6 Sports out of Orlando is reporting that a deal was all but done Friday night that would send Howard out West to join Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash and Pau Gasol and be a part of the Lakers.
Sports Director David Pingalore learned that Friday night through multiple sources that everything this past week was a smoke screen, and the Lakers were always the team that Howard was going to be on. Pingalore also mentioned that the announcement would be happening sometime in the near future.
If this report is correct, then the Rockets will need to find a new plan to fill out their roster for next season.
