Rockets Likely To Land Omer Asik As Bulls Are Close To Signing Nazr Mohammed

It is looking more and more likely that the Houston Rockets will be acquiring restricted free agent Omer Asik via free agency. Asik's former team the Chicago Bulls are reportedly close to signing unrestricted free agent Nazr Mohammed.

The offer sheet that the Rockets had Asik signed was a back loaded deal that makes it a financial burden for the Bulls to match, and it is now being reported that the Bulls will not match the Rockets offer. The deal is a three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet, and the Bulls will be heading into the the luxury tax with or without Asik's deal, so they have opted for a cheaper option in Mohmammed which will cost them only $1.4 million.

The deadline for the Bulls to match the Asik offer sheet is Tuesday night, and once that time passes he will be come a Houston Rocket.
