After trading Kyle Lowry to the Toronto Raptors last week and extending a qualifying offer to New York Knicks point guard, Jeremy Lin, that the Knicks are expected to match, the Houston Rockets still find themselves in desperate need of a point guard.
Enter Aaron Brooks.
Brooks, who once played for the Rockets, took his game to China last season as a result of last summers NBA lockout. But now that he's back stateside, and with the Phoenix Suns rescinding their qualifying offer and making him an unrestricted free-agent, a move to the Rockets makes sense for both parties.
According to Houston Rockets beat writer, Jonathan Feigen, Brooks was in Houston for a wedding recently and met with head coach Kevin McHale and general manager Daryl Morey (without his agent present) about a possible return:
Aaron Brooks on potentially returning to Houston. "It’s a possibility. I haven’t had any conversations with anybody else."
