Texans Rank 17th In NFL Team Popularity Poll

Harris Interactive surveyed 2,620 adult sports fans in the United States, asking them to rank their favorite NFL teams. When they released the results of the poll yesterday, the Houston Texans finished 17th, which placed them above the Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens, among others.

The poll took place during the days of September 14-20, the week following the Texans' defeat of the Indianapolis Colts. The poll closed a day after the Texans beat the Washington Redskins. In all fairness, this was likely the peak of their popularity as a franchise as they moved to 2-0.

Take a look at where everyone else finished after the jump.

1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Indianapolis Colts
3. Green Bay Packers
4. Pittsburgh Steelers
5. New Orleans Saints
6. New England Patriots
7. New York Giants
8. Minnesota Vikings
9. Chicago Bears
10. Atlanta Falcons
11. Arizona Cardinals
12. San Francisco 49ers
13. Philadelphia Eagles
14. Denver Broncos
15. Washington Redskins
16. New York Jets
17. Houston Texans
18. Oakland Raiders
19. Baltimore Ravens
20. San Diego Chargers
21. Miami Dolphins
22. Tennessee Titans
23. Carolina Panthers
24. St. Louis Rams
25. Kansas City Chiefs
26. Cleveland Browns
27. Cincinnati Bengals
28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
29. Buffalo Bills
30. Detroit Lions
31. Seattle Seahawks
32. Jacksonville Jaguars

I think it's rather impressive how highly the Texans finished. Sure, they've got plenty of star players nowadays, but they haven't been around nearly as long as many of these established franchises sitting below them. Nicely done, America.
