Ryan Denney Voted Off The Island

Today the Texans made the signing of Mark Anderson official, and part of that was saying goodbye to Bill Kollar favorite Ryan Denney, who joined the team after Connor Barwin was injured. McClain reports:

Anderson, 27, was placed on waivers by Chicago early this week. He had 3 1/2 sacks last season. When the coaches determine he's ready to play, he should become part of the rotation at defensive end.

I'd expect that to be pretty soon. The Bears and Texans are playing pretty similar defenses from a personnel standpoint and Anderson will just be a situational rusher. Look for him next week, if not this one.

Meanwhile, the Texans will still need to waive one more player to get under the roster limit as Brian Cushing returns to the team and sheds his roster exempt status.

Kudos, Ryan Denney. I will remember your one hurry this year just as fondly as I remembered Tim Jamison's.
