According to Tania Ganguli of the Florida-Times Union, Jaguars quarterback David Garrard will miss the season finale against the Texans to have surgery on his right middle finger. He originally injured the finger against the Colts. This will put Trent Edwards into the starting lineup in Week 17 for the Jaguars, and we’ll get to see if he pulls a Tim Tebow or a Rusty Smith against the pathetic Texans defense.
The Texans officially placed linebacker Darryl Sharpton on IR, which will open up a roster spot for the finale. He may need surgery on his shoulder, as previously reported on Monday. The full injury report, via Nick Scurfield, is below:

CB Sherrick McManis will also likely be out, as Kubiak has already marked him as someone who probably will miss the finale. The Jaguars do still have a chance at the playoffs if they win this game, but they may be too banged up to take advantage of it.
