In a series of tweets, Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com unveiled the Texans Wednesday injury report list:
LB Kevin Bentley
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
WR Andre Johnson
LB Darryl Sharpton
FS Eugene Wilson
TE Owen Daniels
DE Mario Williams
LB DeMeco Ryans
Nothing too surprising on that list. Andre Johnson, questionable with a high ankle sprain, said that it's just a matter of pain management for him:
"They're pretty nagging," Johnson said. "It's something that's going to bother me until it just fully heals. After I re-aggravated it last game, they told me that it hadn't gotten any worse; it was just every time I take a hit on it or I'm tackled a certain way, I'm going to feel pain. The only thing I could do is just come out for a few plays and if I'm able to go back and play, I can continue playing."
"That's just pretty much how it's going to be until it fully heals."
The signing of CB Karl Paymah, to me at least, looks like it's partially a result of the injury to Bentley, who is the Texans special team ace. With Bentley down with knee surgery and likely out at least a few weeks, the team opted to try to find another guy who could contribute on special teams.
