Texans Sign Quintin Demps, Waive Trindon Holliday

WIth Danieal Manning going down with surgery on his fractured tibia, the Texans signed Quintin Demps on Tuesday.

The prognosis on Danieal Manning isn't looking good, so the Texans have decided to be proactive in supporting their secondary. Late Tuesday, the Houston Texans signed former Philadelphia Eagle safety Quintin Demps and waived wide receiver Trindon Holliday.

Demps, who was a member of the Texans for the final month of the 2010 season, will now back up Troy Nolan at free safety while Manning recovers from surgery on his fractured tibia. Manning has averaged 27.4 yards/game as a rick returner and 24 tackles and 2 interceptions as a safety this season. Demps was released after the Texans final preseason game.

Trindon Hollday was just signed to the squad two weeks ago to primarily return kicks. Holiday, the track star from LSU, returned just one punt last week versus the Titans, netting no yards.
