Nick Scrufield of HoustonTexans.com reported this afternoon that Andre Johnson reported improvement in his strained hamstring, but was still considered questionable for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville:
“I’m not going to go out there and play unless I feel comfortable,” he said. “If I don’t feel like I can play, I’m not going to go out there. I definitely won’t do anything to put myself in any danger.”
Johnson did say that he pushed himself a little harder on Thursday, doing a couple of 1-on-1s with defensive backs that he didn’t do on Wednesday.
“He was better today,” Kubiak said. “He told us that he felt better. We kind of approached him in practice the same way. He had his normal day of practice, probably a little bit less than his normal reps he would take on a given Thursday.
Kubiak intoned to the media that the decision would be Johnson’s, and that the team and trainers would continue to listen to the Pro Bowl receiver before making any moves.
