Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is expected to miss several weeks with a "significant" injury to his right foot, this coming from the usual Monday afternoon press conference by head coach Gary Kubiak at the Texans facilities.
Quotes from Houston SportsTalk790's Adam Wexler:
Kubiak:"Significant foot injury that's being evaluated as we speak" talking about Schaub #Texans
Kubiak: " He's gonna miss some time. It's disappointing." #Texans #Schaub
Kubiak acknowledged It looks like Leinart will start against Jacksonville#Texans
Matt Leinart will step into the starting role for the Texans in place of Schaub, and will have two weeks to prepare for their next opponent in divisional foe Jacksonville Jaguars due to their bye week.
The Texans are now 7-3 for the year and lead the division by 2.5 games over the Tennessee Titans, so as long as Leinart doesn't dovetail the Houston offense into the ground the Texans will hope that Schaub has plenty of time to recover for their playoff run.
Schaub has thrown for 2,479 yards and 15 touchdowns this season.
