With Houston leading 16-12, Dan Orlovsky led the Colts on a 12 play, 78 yard drive that resulted in a one yard pass to Reggie Wayne giving Indianapolis their second consecutive victory on the season.
The Texans entered the fourth quarter with a 13-9 lead before Adam Vinateri kicked his fourth field goal of the night to make the score 13-12 with 6:52 remaining in the game to make the score 13-12. Houston responded with an 11 play, 67 yard drive that resulted in a 31 yard Neil Rackers field goal that extended the lead to 16-12 but gave the Colts back the football with two minutes remaining in the game.
Orlovsky then led the Colts on the game winning drive that was aided by two costly Houston penalties. The Texans were flagged 11 times for 84 yards in the game but none were bigger than the late hit penalty on Orlovsky by J.J. Watt or the pass interference penalty called on Glover Quin that set the Colts up at the one yard line.
Arian Foster had a big day running the ball but the Texans once again struggled to stretch the field without the injured Andre Johnson. Foster finished with 158 yards on 23 carries and a first quarter touchdown. T.J. Yates was extremely accurate going 13-16 for 132 yards. Kevin Walter caught three passes for 47 yards.
Orlovsky was the hero for the Colts finishing 23-41 for 244 yards and the game-winning score. Joseph Addai led the ground game with 59 yards on 19 carries. Reggie Wayne hauled in eight catches for 106 yards and the game clinching touchdown.
The loss is the Texans' second in a row and essentially takes them out of the running for a first round bye in the playoffs.
