With the Houston Texans locked into the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs after a shocking 19-16 loss to the Indianapolis Colts last Thursday, they are +1 home underdogs against the Tennessee Titans in the last game of the season.
Of course, with the way the Texans played against the Colts, they may not have been favored even if they had something to play for in Week 17.
Without Andre Johnson and leery of putting rookie QB T.J. Yates in situations where he might throw a costly interception, Houston couldn't get into the end-zone in several red zone trips against Indianapolis.
Their running game, however, was as strong as ever, with Arian Foster rushing for 158 yards and 1 TD on 6.9 yards per carry.
They'll likely lean on the ground game against a Tennessee defense that has given up 126.7 rushing yards a game, 24th worst in the NFL, although they may not give Foster a full workload.
The Titans, at 8-7, have not been eliminated from the AFC playoff picture. However, they no longer control their own destiny and are behind the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Oakland Raiders for the No. 6 seed in the AFC playoffs.
Whichever team wins that race will travel to Houston to play in the franchise's first ever playoff game.
