The Houston Texans are heading to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history this season. Despite losing both starting quarterback Matt Schaub and backup quarterback Matt Leinart, the Texans are heading into Week 17 of the 2011 season with a 10-6 record, thanks mostly to a top-notch defense and third-string quarterback T.J. Yates.
Two more players that have had outstanding seasons are running back Arian Foster and cornerback Johnathan Joseph, both of whom are heading to the 2012 NFL Pro Bowl. Foster has gone over 1,000 rushing yards for the second year in a row with 1,224 yards so far in 2011 along with 10 touchdowns. He has the third most rushing yards in the league through the first 16 weeks. Joseph, who signed with the Texans in the offseason after leaving the Bengals, has proven to be a huge addition. He has made 44 tackles, picked off four passes and has 15 passes defensed.
If the team's first trip to the post season doesn't amount to much, at least Foster and Joseph can have fun in Hawaii.
