Phillips Calls Cushing "A Holy Phenom"

I love, LOVE quotes like this about the man, the myth, the legend:

"They don’t see how many plays he makes that are unseen, unless you put the camera on it, slow it down and go in slow motion," he said. "He’s there – boom – making plays. I know a lot of people are deserving, but that guy’s a holy phenom now. He’s one of the best I’ve coached, and I’ve been at it a long time."

Wade Phillips has been around a long time. When he says that Cushing is the best he's ever coached, that's high praise, but very appropriate praise for a player who's been a whirling dervish on the defense for the Texans.

Which is great for a lot of reasons, especially since there were questions on how Cushing would do moving to inside linebacker. He also had a down sophomore season, so to see him playing at a high level at a new position in a new defense has been great.

Nice to see Wade agrees.
