According to Mark Berman of MyFOXHouston, newly cut Texans receiver Andre Davis is making a visit to the Washington Redskins in advance of the lockout, which is expected to occur on Friday.
Davis was placed in IR during the preseason last year, and didn’t play a snap with the team. He filled in nicely for Andre Johnson during the 2007 season, earning himself a nice contract, but once Johnson was healthy Davis’ only real role was returning kicks. He did that very well in 2008, and very poorly in 2009.
Cutting Davis and safety Eugene Wilson saved the Texans roughly $8.25 million against next year’s salary cap.
