SMU speedster Aldrick Robinson will be the latest wide receiver to try to take hold of the #2 receiver role in Washington, as he was selected by the Redskins in the sixth round with the 178th overall pick.
Robinson is a mighty mite, at just 5’9", but has top end speed and managed to score 30 touchdowns in just three seasons of starting work for the Mustangs. Robinson ranked 12th in the nation last year with 92.93 receiving yards per game. Unfortunately, he doesn’t offer much in the return game, which is a bit surprising given his speed, so he’ll have to rely purely on his receiving skills to land a roster spot.
The Redskins had a lot of problems finding a consistent threat next to Santana Moss last year, using Anthony Armstrong and Brandon Banks, among others, to fill the void. Robinson will come in with Miami’s Leonard Hankerson to try to remedy that problem.
