The fourth TCU Horned Frog selected in the 2011 NFL Draft is strong safety Colin Jones, who was snagged by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round.
Despite sharing it with QB Andy Dalton, Jones managed to turn a lot of heads at TCU's Pro Day. He had excellent 40 times for a safety, logging 4.34 and a 4.38. Yep, that will get you drafted for sure.
Jones is a bit of a late-bloomer. He didn't slide into his full-time starting role until last season. Despite his impressive 40 times, he was not invited to participate at the NFL Combine. Jones is a special teams demon, and will be expected to continue that role in San Francisco, who also grabbed defensive back Chris Culliver of South Carolina earlier in the draft.
He may end up being a bit of a project as a safety, as the system he played in at TCU was a full-time 4-2-5.
