Scouts, Inc. Likes A Couple Of Texans

ESPN's scouting division, Scouts, Inc., released its annual Top 200 players list. Three Texans show up in the Top 75, including Andre Johnson at No. 7, Mario Williams at No. 33 and Arian Foster at No. 69.

Johnson is the highest listed receiver and has really fit nicely into the role of the best receiver in the NFL for a couple of seasons now. Remember, too, this is coming off a season when he wasn't entirely healthy the whole year and he is still considered the seventh-best player in the NFL.

↵

Williams was picked here more as a rush end than an outside linebacker, so his stock could rise or fall depending upon his transition this season to Wade Phillips' defense. As a comparison, DeMarcus Ware was listed at No. 15 on this list.

↵

Foster was the sixth-highest rated running back, behind Jamaal Charles, Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson and Maurice Jones-Drew. It's quite a leap for the undrafted free agent and proof that running backs can sometimes come out of nowhere. Still, it's nice to see Foster get credit a year after his breakout season, instead of scouts downplaying his early success.

↵

Other Texans on the list include: Owen Daniels (No. 107), Matt Schaub (No. 146), Johnathan Joseph (No. 149), DeMeco Ryans (No. 167) and Eric Winston (No. 187). If you're scoring at home, that's only one player off of last year's season ending defensive lineup in the Top 200, but at least the Texans get DeMeco back and added a highly thought-of player in Joseph. So that's nice.
