Walter's Injury Forces Texans To Sign David Anderson

Even though he'll likely not play much, I'm always glad to see favorite players return to the team I care about most. That's what happened Wednesday, when the Texans signed David Anderson and released Tim Bulman in light of Kevin Walter's shoulder injury.

Walter will not miss as much time as expected, which means Anderson's time with the team might be brief. However, I think what his signing really means is that the Texans aren't happy with how Bryant Johnson is progressing in this offense. If he were up to speed, they'd probably plug him into that No. 3 spot in the receiving depth chart, but I have a feeling Anderson will be used in the slot this weekend, simply because he knows what to do.

Releasing Bulman to sign him wasn't bad, either, and speaks to the Texans confidence in its defensive line depth. Bulman, though, was also a favorite player for his scrappy play and fighting the odds to be on the team in the first place. He's not a great fit in the 3-4, so I understand why they kept a guy like Tim Jamison instead.

Now, maybe, just maybe, we'll see the String Dance this weekend in Miami. Awesome.
