2012 NFL Mock Draft: UNC WR Dwight Jones A First-Round Possibility For The Texans

In the latest mock draft from SBNation, Ryan Van Biber has the Houston Texans taking UNC WR Dwight Jones with the No. 26 pick in the first round:

26. Houston Texans, Dwight Jones, WR, North Carolina

I'm already looking forward to next week's mock draft, one that will reflect the changing fortunes of players after the Senior Bowl. Jones, to me, looks like this year's break out receiver from Mobile. He's not the perfect complement to Andre Johnson, but he gives Houston another very talented receiver who can be their number one if Johnson has to deal with anymore injuries.

Jones, at 6'4 225, has prototypical size for a WR. As a senior in Chapel Hill, he caught 85 balls for 1,196 yards and 12 TD's last year.

But while he was able to physically dominate ACC CB's, there are questions about his route-running ability and fundamental skills at the next level, as WR is one of the toughest positions to project.

The Texans will likely target a WR early in the draft, as that unit completely disintegrated in Andre Johnson's absence.

Jones is part of a large group of WR's, along with Notre Dame's Michael Floyd, South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery and Baylor's Kendall Wright, trying to establish themselves as the clear-cut No. 2 in the draft behind Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon.
