The NFL season isn't completely over yet but that hasn't stopped a massive amount of mock draft to be published online. There are only two teams left to play in the Super Bowl before the draft order is complete, but the Texans have known that they would be have the No. 26 pick in the first round for almost two weeks after they were eliminated from the playoffs in the divisional round by the Baltimore Ravens.
In Sports Illustrated's latest mock draft, Don Banks predicted that the Houston Texans will give their defensive line a boost by selecting defensive tackle Dontari Poe out of the University of Memphis with the No. 26 overall pick.
Though a receiver like Baylor's Kendall Wright might get the nod, Wade Phillips' vastly improved Texans defense could use a big body to hold down the fort at nose tackle. With a name like Poe, he should be a Raven, but the Texans might snatch him up first.
ESPN Insider ranks the 6-foot-3, 330-pound defensive tackle as the sixth best interior defensive lineman in the 2012 draft and the addition of Poe could help the Texans carry their No. 2 defensive rank over into 2012.
