The Houston Texans are looking to stay undefeated and improve to 6-0 for the first time in franchise history, as they host the Green Bay Packers Sunday night on NBC. This game has lost some luster, as the Packers are not as good as people thought they were heading into this season at 2-3 on the year. Just last week, Green Bay fell to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Packers have been banged up by injuries this year, which has contributed to them being under .500. On Sunday they will be without running back Cedric Benson, who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a sprained foot; tight end Jermichael Finley and defensive tackle B.J. Raji are both hurt and they may or may not be in the lineup. Then there is wide receiver Greg Jennings, and his status is up in the air with a groin injury.
This also will be the first game that the Texans will play without starting linebacker Brian Cushing, who tore his ACL and is done for the year. Cushing led the team in tackles with 29, and he will likely be replaced by Tim Dobbins, who has just four tackles on the year.
A bright spot for the Texans is that they will have backup running back Ben Tate returning to action. Last week Tate missed the Jets game due to a toe injury.
