Ben Tate injury: Texans RB expected to play, says Gary Kubiak

Backup running back did not practice on Thursday or Friday and is listed as questionable for Monday

Jeremy Brevard-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

According to a tweet from the Houston Chronicle's Tania Gangull, Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak expects running back Ben Tate to be ready to go for Monday night's game against the New York Jets but says that he is very comfortable with Justin Forsett and they'll see how tomorrow goes.

Tate is currently listed as questionable for Sunday's game due to a toe injury. Tate did not practice on Thursday or Friday.

Tate serves as Arian Foster's backup and currently has 117 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns so far this season. Forsett is a five-year veteran who has six attempts for 35 yards this season.

The Jets gave up 245 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4 so Foster and either Tate or Forsett should see a lot of the ball when they take the field.

The Texans are one of only two undefeated teams remaining in the NFL, along with the Atlanta Falcons. They are 4-0 and first in the AFC.
