Jaguars vs. Texans injury report: Smith, Tate don't practice

Antonio Smith and Ben Tate missed practice Thursday after being limited participants on Wednesday.

Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE

The statuses of Houston Texans defensive end Antonio Smith and backup running back Ben Tate are up in the air. Both missed Thursday's practice after being limited in practice on Wednesday.

Smith was limited with an ankle injury on Wednesday but sat out Thursday as the team prepares to take on division foe the Jacksonville Jaguars. Smith has four sacks on the season, as well as 14 tackles and a forced fumble. Tate continues to be bothered by a hamstring injury. He hasn't played since Week 7 against the Ravens when he racked up 47 yards on 10 carries.

Quarterback Matt Schaub is likely happy to see wide receiver Kevin Walter back at full strength. He was a full participant in Thursday's practice after being limited on Wednesday with a groin injury. Tight end Owen Daniels was also a limited participant as he nurses a back injury. He missed the Texans' Week 10 tilt with the Chicago Bears. Defensive tackle Shaun Cody (ribs/back) and linebacker Tim Dobbins (shoulder) were also limited participants in practice.
