Another win, and another week atop the SB Nation NFL Power Rankings for the Houston Texans, who at 9-1 are sitting pretty atop the AFC standings.
The Texans are tops in the list for the second straight week following a surprisingly tough, overtime win over the Jacksonville Jaguars this past Sunday. The Texans look to keep it going on Thanksgiving, when they travel to face the Detroit Lions for their traditional holiday game.
SB Nation NFL editor Joel Thorman knows a good team when he sees one:
"Good teams find a way to win. That's what I can say about the Texans' overtime victory over the Jaguars. Even with what appeared to be a game-killing interception from Matt Schaub, the Texans found a way to win. That's what you can expect from a good team. Things tend to fall its way."
The Texans are also tops in the power rankings for CBS Sports, ESPN.com and NBC Pro Football Talk. CBS' Pete Prisco says the Texans' defense can't look like it did against the Jaguars this week agains the Lions:
"Nice of Gary Kubiak to give the defense the week off against the Jaguars. They better not do that Thanksgiving Day -- or Calvin Johnson will light them up."
ESPN's John Clayton likes what he sees from quarterback Matt Schaub:
"No QB does play-action better than Matt Schaub, and the win over Jags had plenty of action."
