NFL Power Rankings 2012: Houston Texans remain on top

The Houston Texans are still No. 1 in the NFL Power Rankings.

The Houston Texans keep winning, so logic states they remain at the top of SB Nation's NFL Power Rankings. And indeed, No. 1 is where you'll find the Texans, who after two straight overtime wins are still the class of the NFL at 10-1.

Houston -- which is tied with the Atlanta Falcons for the top overall record in the NFL -- will get a big of a break between its Thanksgiving win over the Detroit Lions last Thursday and this Sunday's game against the AFC South rival Tennessee Titans. They'll need that break as the schedule is pretty tough the rest of the way, as SB Nation NFL Editor Joel Thorman points out:

"Houston needed overtime (and a fortunate call ... he was down) to beat the Lions on Thanksgiving. They play the Colts twice the rest of the way, and the Patriots on Monday night in two weeks. Barring a surprise meltdown, this should be your No. 1 seed in the AFC."

The Texans also remain at the top of the weekly league rankings from CBS Sports and ESPN.com. CBS NFL writer Pete Prisco says a date with the red-hot New England Patriots looms:

"They are banged up, so the long break will do them good. Put a circle around Dec. 10. That's when they get the Patriots."

John Clayton of ESPN.com says the Texans all but have the conference's top seed wrapped up:

"They are banged up, so the long break will do them good. Put a circle around Dec. 10. That's when they get the Patriots."
