After an eventful final few minutes of the quarter, the Houston Texans now own a 20-10 advantage over the Indianapolis Colts going into halftime in Houston, Texas.
The Texans led, 10-0, after the first 15 minutes, then each team connected on a field goal to get things started in the second quarter. First, Adam Vinatieri knocked one down from 26 yards to cut into the Houston lead.
But the Texans answered right back. Shayne Graham made his second field goal attempt of the game, this one from 35 yards out with just under four minutes to play.
With the score 13-3, the final two minutes of the half provided plenty of excitement. Indianapolis failed to score on its next possession and tried to punt it away, but Bryan Braman blocked the attempt and returned the ball eight yards for what looked like a momentum-swinging touchdown. The Texans led, 20-3, at that point and looked like they might coast into halftime.
Andrew Luck had other ideas. The Indianapolis quarterback hit T.Y. Hilton with a 61-yard touchdown pass to answer right back and make it 20-10 at halftime. Luck is just 7-15 passing, but his one touchdown throw came at a critical time.
