NFL power rankings: Texans still on top

The Houston Texans are No. 1 yet again in the SB Nation NFL power rankings.

The Houston Texans are still the best team in the NFL, so sayeth the SB Nation NFL power rankings. Houston is No. 1 again after yet another win this weekend to run their record to 11-1.

A date with the No. 3 New England Patriots on Monday Night Football looms. The game could show the rest of the country what SB Nation NFL Editor Joel Thorman already knows -- the Texans are good:

1. Houston Texans (LW: 1, 11-1): They're close to wrapping up the AFC South and could do so with a little help in Week 14. The biggest game of their season comes on Monday night when they visit the 9-3 Patriots. Lots on the line there, including home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. The Texans can actually clinch homefield advantage so long as they win and the Broncos, Ravens and Colts lose.

No. 1 is where you'll find the Texans elsewhere across the Web, too. CBS Sports and ESPN.com both have Houston at the top of their respective power rankings. ESPN's John Clayton writes that Houston is in a good position to get healthy while still playing for home-field advantage:

Injuries are becoming a major concern, but the 11-1 record buys the Texans time to rest players.

After the Patriots on Monday, the Texans still have two games with AFC South rival Indianapolis to close the season, with the Minnesota Vikings sandwiched between in Week 16.
