2012 NFL Mock Draft: Mocking The Draft Predicts Texans Select Baylor WR Kendall Wright

The season is officially over now that the New York Giants have been crowned league champions and even though free agency hasn't opened, the official draft order has been set, which means there are mock drafts galore available online. SB Nation's own Mocking The Draft recently pumped out a new mock draft in which they predict the Houston Texans will select Baylor wide receiver Kendall Wright in the first round with the No. 26 overall pick.

The Texans don't have too many needs. They had an amazing off-season last year that turned the worst passing defense, into one of the best all-round defenses in the league. Imagine how good they can be with a whole off-season to work with. Offensively, Houston could use with someone to take the load of Andre Johnson. Kendall Wright is almost the perfect compliment. Wright is a small guy, but his blazing speed and good route-running ability will see him create separation and get open at the next level. With the addition of Wright, defenses will have to play two deep safeties constantly to avoid getting burned by him or Johnson; which will allow that brilliant run game more room in which to operate.

Andre Johnson isn't getting any younger nor is he getting any healthier. He only played in seven games in 2011 thanks to a nagging hamstring injury. The addition of Wright, who has 4.42-speed, will give Matt Schaub another reliable target and a new No. 1 receiver in the event of another injury to Johnson.
