2012 NFL Draft: Texans 2nd/3rd Round Targets

First off I thought the Texans did a great job taking talent over need tonight with the pick of Whitney Mercilus. I know most fans wanted a wide receiver or maybe even an offensive lineman, but the best talent available was at pass rusher. That being said, I did like Courtney Upshaw a little better at OLB over Mercilus, but still a very solid pick. It's nice to see the Texans benefiting for a change from teams reaching for players (Seattle & Cleveland), instead of being the team who does the reaching.

Going into the 2nd and 3rd rounds, I'd ideally like to see a receiver and offensive lineman; but again, always take the most talented player over reaching for a need. Here are some guys to watch for tomorrow. I wouldn't mind the Texans trading up for a few of these guys.

See the original story for breakdowns of each player.
