NFL Round Two Mock Draft 2012: Houston Texans Projected To Draft Bobby Massie

The Houston Texans shocked some - at least the large majority of journalists, bloggers and fans who assemble mock drafts - by forgoing a wide receiver in the first round to fortify their defense with Illinois DE Whitney Mercilus. Now, with their next pick in the second round (No. 58 overall), SB Nation's round two mock draft has them filling a need on the offensive line:

58. Houston Texans - Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss

First-round pick: Whitney Mercilus, DE

After cutting Eric Winston this offseason, the Texans have a big need on the right side of their line. Massie is one of the draft's better right side blockers and is agile enough to play in a zone scheme.

It's not the sexiest of moves, but Massie was a highly effective right tackle at Ole Miss and is considered a plug-and-play rookie after three years in the SEC. If this pick comes true, Houston's clearly drafting for need above all else.
