NFL Draft Grades: Houston Texans Earn A 'C' For Whitney Mercilus

The NFL team at SB Nation has already compiled a way too early set of grades for the 2012 NFL Draft after just the first round (hey, that's why it's called a 'way too early' grade), and the Houston Texans earned a middling 'C' for their pick of Illinois defensive end Whitney Mercilus:

Texans: Whitney Mercilus had a solid senior season, but not much prior to that. Boom-or-bust type of pick here but Houston has the personnel to make it work.

The rest of the AFC south not named Indianapolis was considered fairly mediocre. The Jaguars were also given a 'C' grade for what was perceived as an oever-reach for wideout Justin Blackmon, while the Titans earned a 'B' for taking Baylor receiver Kendall Wright. The no-brainer overall pick of Luck predictably earned an 'A,' but there's a whole, whole lot of Draft left for these grades to change.
