2012 NFL Draft: Texans Take Tackle Nick Mondek In Sixth Round

The Houston Texans continued to focus on the offensive line Saturday, taking Purdue tackle Nick Mondek with the 195th overall selection. Mondek is the third offensive lineman the Texans have taken in the 2012 draft, after selecting Miami (OH) guard Brandon Brooks at no. 76 and Georgia center Ben Jones at no. 99.

Mondek is a 6-foot-5, 307 pounder from Naperville, Illinois who came to Purdue as a defensive tackle, but was switched to the O-line before the 2010 season. He started all 12 games at right tackle in 2010, then started 13 games at guard in 2011, but wasn't expected to be a draft pick until Purdue's pro day, when Mondek posted a 4.84 40 time along with impressive bench and cone drill numbers.

His Twitter handle is @Mondek62, and there's video of his workout and way more on his Boilermaker career at Hammer & Rails.
