The Texans added to their deep receiving core on Monday when they inked former North Carolina wide receiver Dwight Jones.
If Texans fans have heard the name before it's likely because a week ago on Sportsradio 610 AM he said he was the next Andre Johnson. If anything will help that claim by Jones, it's that he will now get to practice alongside Johnson every single day.
Jones was projected by many as a sixth round pick, but he wasn't drafted partly because he needs to improve his hands, acceleration and blocking.
As a Tar Heel last season, Jones put up strong numbers. He caught 85 balls for 1,196 yards and 12 touchdowns. He earned second-team All-ACC honors in 2011 as a senior.
