Former Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns WR Roy Williams has earned a tryout with the Houston Texans according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The nine-year NFL veteran would be someone the Texans know that they can rely on, as the Texans do not have a lot of proven wide receivers on the roster. According to Hill, Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter are the only two wide receivers on the Texans roster who have caught a pass in the NFL.
Williams was with the Chicago Bears last season, recording 37 catches and two touchdowns for the NFC North teams. Before that, Williams played two plus years for the Cowboys, catching 94 balls for 13 touchdowns. Dallas acquired Williams from the Detroit Tigers in 2008, and sent three draft picks, including a first-rounder to the Motor City.
