Ben Jones Wears Jersey Number To Honor Late Father

The No. 60 means more to Ben Jones than just an ordinary number. It many ways it is a link back to his late father. Jones wears No. 60 to honor his late father who passed away when Jones was just 10 years old.

"I've worn 60 ever since he passed - since I was 10," said the 23-year-old Jones, whose father died in a helicopter crash doing his job as a forester. "I wore it all the way through high school and middle school."

Its a touching story of commitment that Jones has continued to wear his dad's number throughout the middle school and high school levels. As he arrived at Georgia the uniform number was taken but Jones switched to it during his senior season which in many ways was his most important.

After getting picked by the Texans in the 2012 NFL Draft he checked to see if the number was available and ironically it was. Ben has long been known for his leadership ability in high school and college and he looks to continue that at the pro level.
