Houston Texans Training Camp Draws New York Times, Sports Illustrated Coverage

Texans training camp is a bit more media heavy than it's been in previous years. That's because this is the first year Houston is a popular Super Bowl contender around the country, not just to the Battle Red loyalists and hopefuls.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, fresh off his trip to Canton, OH for the Pro Football Hall of Fame festivities, noted that Judy Battista of the New York Times and Don Banks of SI.com are at Texans training camp doing interviews this week.

They are doing this because the Super Bowl implications are real. The consensus is that a healthy Texans team is worth covering early - before they get to the playoffs as AFC South division champions for the second straight season.

Get this, though: Banks hasn't been to Texans training camp since their inaugural season in 2002. Welcome back, Don. Welcome back.
