Matt Schaub 'Excited' To Continue Career In Houston

Quarterback Matt Schaub and the Houston Texans agreed to a four-year, $62 million dollar contract extension following Houston's Week 1 win over Miami, a deal that will keep Schaub in Houston through the 2016 season.

Needless to say, Schaub and his teammates are quite happy with the news.

"I'm glad to see him receive that," All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson said of Schaub's new contract. "I think that he really deserves it. I think a lot of times, he doesn't get the credit that he deserves."

Johnson has thrived with Schaub as his quarterback, so it's no surprise that Houston's top wide receiver is happy to see his quarterback under contract through 2016.

Schaub himself, as you might imagine, is also quite happy.

"I'm excited to continue my career here in Houston and finish my career here," Schaub said. "We have a tremendous organization, an owner (Bob McNair) that really owner that really cares about us as players and providing an environment to win, and I am extremely excited about that."

With the Indianapolis Colts in full rebuild mode, the AFC South is now the Texans' division -- for the foreseeable future, at least. Hopefully for Texans fans, Schaub can take the Texans deep into the playoffs.
