Conference play beginning all around college football this weekend guarantees a lot of excitement as teams seek hot starts against their close rivals. Texas A&M will escape the start of conference play over the weekend though, as they instead look for their second win of the season against South Carolina State of the MEAC before finally starting their SEC schedule against Arkansas a week later.
The Houston Cougars will get a week off after going 0-3 to start the season. They'll face off against Rice on Sept. 29 in their next game following the break.
Here's the top games in regional action over the weekend, all times are Central:
Rice Owls vs. Marshall Thundering Herd (Sept. 22, 3:30 p.m.)
Texas A&M Aggies vs. South Carolina State Bulldogs (Sept. 22, 6 p.m.)
