Running back Cyrus Gray was having a great first half against the Kansas Jayhawks with 94 yards and three touchdowns, but the Texas A&M Aggies running back came out of the locker room in warm ups with an undisclosed injury.

ESPN's Big 12 blogger reported via Twitter on the alleged nature of the injury now by saying, "Sounds like the issue with Cyrus Gray is his left shoulder. No sling or anything on the sidelines."

School officials said that Gray would be evaluated after the game to find out the severity of the injury. Texas A&M did not need Gray to finish off Kansas, but the main concern will be if Gray can suit up on Thanksgiving night when the Aggies take on their rival Texas Longhorns.

Texas A&M already lost running back Christine Michael to the year due to a knee injury, so losing Gray against Texas will be a big blow for this offense.

The Texas A&M Aggies haven't wasted any time lighting up the Kyle Field scoreboard in College Station, as Mike Sherman's bunch has opened up a 23-0 lead over the Kansas Jayhawks after one quarter of play.

Two rushing touchdowns by Cyrus Gray and a passing touchdown from Ryan Tannehill to Ryan Swope have put the Kansas defense to shame thus far. Gray scored from 30 and 36 yards out as he has just 5 carries for 77 yards already in one quarter. Tannehill's pass to Swope was a 27-yard pitch and catch, and the touchdown pass was Tannehill's 24th of the season.

For Turner Gill, the story is the same. The offense can't get started early and the defense digs a major hole for them to climb out of. The Jayhawks have just 46 total yards to show for their first quarter efforts.

This is the last best chance for the Texas A&M Aggies to make it to six wins and become bowl eligible when they take on the 2-9 Kansas Jayhawks. The Texas A&M offense should have no issue putting up points against this Kansas defense that allows 44 points per game. However, this season the downfall for Texas A&M's season is their defense and holding onto second half double-digit leads.

Playing at home against Kansas should solve Texas A&M's winning woes and allow them to gain some confidence going into their showdown next week against their rival the Texas Longhorns.

Blowing second-half leads shouldn't be a problem against the 2-8 Jayhawks.

For a senior-laden team that started in the top 10, bowl eligibility was supposed to be a mere formality. But sitting at 5-5 with only two games left in their final Big 12 season, Texas A&M needs a win over the Kansas Jayhawks to ensure a bowl berth.

They couldn't have picked a better opponent, as Kansas has lost eight straight games while winning only one Big 12 game in Turner Gill's first two years in Lawrence.

That's why the odds makers have installed the Aggies as -30.5 home favorites despite their inability to close out games in the second half. The Jayhawks were surprisingly frisky last week, losing to Baylor 31-30 in OT, but for most of the season they haven't even been close enough in the second half to even consider mounting a comeback.

Kansas gives up 44.0 points a game, 120th in college football and only scores 25.1, 76th in college football.

Texas A&M, meanwhile, has to ignore the hypotheticals that hang over their season. Of their five losses, only one, a road game at Oklahoma, wasn't competitive.

They blew second half-leads against No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 6 Arkansas, two teams still in the thick of the national title race, and then lost heart-breaking overtime games to Missouri and No. 13 Kansas State.

Their offense, led by the senior trio of QB Ryan Tannehill, RB Cyrus Gray and WR Jeff Fuller, hasn't been the problem, as the Aggies have scored 38.9 points a game, 12th best in the nation. The defense, who never recovered from losing No. 2 overall pick Von Miller, just hasn't been able to hold on to leads.

If they want to head into what could be their last Thanksgiving game against Texas in a long time playing for more than just pride, they'll need to take care of business against the Jayhawks on Saturday.

The game will be televised regionally on Fox Sports Net at 11:00 AM.
