The Houston Astros suffer a three game sweep at the hands of the Chicago Cubs with a 3-0 loss on Sunday. Wandy Rodriguez cruised through the first five innings before running into trouble in the sixth.

Rookie Anthony Rizzo struck again bringing home Chicago's first run with an RBI single in the sixth. Jeff Baker followed with a double that scored both Rizzo and Starlin Castro to give the Cubs a 3-0 lead.

Travis Wood took it from there holding the Astros to just three hits in 7 2/3 innings of work to pick up his third win of the season. Rodriguez takes the loss allowing five hits and three runs in seven innings to fall to 6-6 on the season. Carlos Marmol picks up his eighth save of the season with a scoreless ninth.

Jose Altuve was named to the National League's All-Star team prior to the game and went 1 for 4 in his return to the lineup from a hamstring injury.

The Houston Astros are dealing with a bevy issues on Sunday. Key players are now emerging in talks for possible trades around the league, their record stinks, and there's a real chance Houston will receive only one sympathy selection for the 2012 All-Star game. My apologies for being a downer.

However, the young team is beginning to blossom with talent, and one of those players is Jose Altuve who reclaims his starting spot as the leadoff hitter and second baseman on Sunday. Altuve will play Sunday after missing six straight games because of a right hamstring injury. Here are the starting lineups for both teams.

The Houston Astros look to avoid a three-game sweep at Wrigley Field when they take on the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. The Astros dropped the first two games of the series losing the opener on Friday 4-0 and falling 3-2 on Saturday thanks to a two-run homer from rookie Anthony Rizzo.

Wandy Rodriguez will take the ball for the Astros and is 6-5 with a 3.52 ERA this season. Rodriguez is coming off of a no decision in which he allowed five runs in 6 and 2/3 innings against the Padres. The Cubs will counter with Travis Wood who is 2-3 with a 3.54 ERA.

The Houston Astros dropped their second straight game to the Chicago Cubs on Saturday in a close 3-2 game.
Roadtrips haven't been kind to the Houston Astros this year. The Astros bring a 9-26 road record into Saturday's contest against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, as Houston looks to improve upon that awful road record.

Houston dropped the first of a three-game set against the Cubs on Friday, losing 4-0 in Bud Norris' return from the disabled list.

J.A. Happ starts Saturday for Houston, as he looks to improve upon his 6-7 record. Entering Saturday's contest, Happ is the owner of a 4.83 ERA and 1.48 WHIP -- neither of which are impressive figures. Happ, to his credit, has struck out 84 in 85 and 2/3 innings of work on the season, though.

Houston's bats will face off against trade bait Matt Garza. Garza brings a 3-6 record into Saturday's contest, but don't be fooled by the meaningless record -- Garza is a very, very good pitcher. Garza brings a 1.09 WHIP into the contest, to go along with a .221 average against and 4.06 ERA.

First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT. Televised coverage can be found on FOX Sports Houston.

The Astros couldn't get anything going against the Cubs and Bud Norris' return wasn't exactly glorious on Friday afternoon when Houston was shut out at Wrigley Field, 4-0. Chicago came into this game with the worst record in the division, as the only team behind the Astros.

But it was the Cubs in front on Friday, led by Paul Maholm on the mound where he allowed just four hits over 8 1-3 innings in his 200th major league start.

Luis Valbuena hit a solo shot off Norris in the second inning. Steve Clevenger two-run blast in the fourth for his first major league home run, and Alfonso Soriano homered in the sixth.

Brian Bixler and Carlos Lee had hits in the ninth that showed a late rally for the Stros, but this one was in the books once that rally failed.

The Astros take the show on the road, looking to take advantage of the only team in the NL Central with a worse record in the Chicago Cubs.

The Astros and Cubs are the NL Central bottom-feeders and neither team is likely to climb its way out any time soon. But the Astros, with such a favorable schedule since playing the Rangers earlier this month, have a decent opportunity to show all of their good pitching and extra-base hitting to a division opponent and rival.

Houston is coming off a series split with the Padres, a series the Stros should have and would have won were it not for a late-game collapse from Brett Myers and Chris Johnson. The Stros were close to victory a couple of times on Thursday night before someone they call Alexi Amarista hit his 1st career home run with a game winning grand slam.

Still, solid pitching and extra-base hits have been the source of everything positive for Houston in the past week. The Cubs will have the clear advantage as the series opens up, since they had the day off on Thursday while the Stros battled in their seventh game in as many days. This series will make it 10 games in 10 days, so Houston fans have to be worried about a fatigue factor playing into this.

That's where Bud Norris comes in. He's the guy who had to spend some time on the disabled list and is making his first appearance since June 12.

The Cubs are in a rebuilding mode like the Astros are, but both teams have quite a bit of young talent, so this series shouldn't be boring despite what the records show.

The Astros head to Wrigley for a weekend series with the Cubs, as both teams are recovering from ugly losses earlier this week.

The Cubs and Astros are both nursing bruises after losing series finales in disappointing manners, and while Houston blew a ninth inning lead over the Padres to lose on Thursday, it doesn't quite compare to the 17-1 blowout the Mets handed Chicago on Wednesday.

Bud Norris will start for Houston after returning from the DL (left knee). He threw a bullpen session and had one rehab start in Triple-A Oklahoma City, and is looking for his first win since May 21. Last month Norris won four straight starts with a combined ERA of 0.35.
