The Houston Astros face the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday in the last game of a three-game series, and the final contest between the teams as members of the National League Central Division. The Astros have won the first two games of the series, giving them the chance for their first series sweep since a May 23 victory over the Cubs.

If Houston is going to complete the sweep, they will have to solve Pirates starter A.J. Burnett. The veteran Burnett has pitched well this season, going 15-8 with a 3.64 ERA. He has lost his last three starts, though the losses have come more as a result of Pittsburgh's stagnant bats than poor pitching. Burnett is making his fourth start against Houston this season, with a 1-0 record and 4.42 ERA in his previous three appearances against the Astros.

Houston will send right-hander Jordan Lyles to the mound. Lyles holds a 4-11 record in his second major-league season, and has recorded a 5.40 ERA to date. He was roughed up in his last start against the Pirates, giving up five runs in just 4⅔ innings in a Sept. 4 loss.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 CT. Fox Sports Houston and KTRH 740 AM handle the broadcasts.

The Houston Astros used a three-run seventh inning to down the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-1.

Houston took an early 1-0 lead with a single off the bat of Brett Wallace in the first. Pittsburgh quickly answered in the top of the second, as Gaby Sanchez launched a leadoff home run, his seventh of the season.

Pirates' starter Kevin Correia and Astros rookie left-hander Dallas Keuchel kept things knotted at 1-1 until the Astros broke things open in the seventh. A single and an error put two runners on for catcher Jason Castro, who hit his third home run of the season to give the Astros a 4-1 lead.

Keuchel allowed four hits and one run over seven innings and Hector Ambriz and Wilton Lopez combined to log two perfect innings of relief.

The Houston Astros are taking on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second game of their three-game series. After a 7-1 victory, the Astros are looking to win back-to-back games for only the second time since early August.

The Pirates are still hanging around in the wild card race and are 5.5 games back with 12 games left, so they need to win as many games as possible if they want to have a chance at that wild card spot. The Astros will be playing the spoiler role against the Pirates.

The Astros are sending out Dallas Keuchel to the mound who has struggled this year with a 2-7 record. Keuchel actually earned his second win of the year when he pitched 5.1 innings of shutout ball to beat the Phillies.
