The latest bowl projections have been published in conjunction with the latest BCS standings, and the LSU Tigers are slated to participate in the Cotton Bowl.

The latest BCS standings are out, and consequently, the latest 2012 college football bowl projections are also out. The LSU Tigers, believed to be BCS title contenders earlier this season, are currently projected to play in the Cotton Bowl against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Playing in the Cotton Bowl is certainly nothing to sneeze at, as it is perhaps the most prestigious non-BCS bowl game. Traditionally, the game pits the No. 2 team in the Big 12 against an SEC team -- and it's typically the best non-BCS SEC team as well.

The Tigers can claw back into the BCS picture and national title picture on Saturday night, when they play host to the Alabama Crimson Tide. A win by LSU would certainly catapult the Tigers into the BCS picture once again.

The Texas Longhorns, meanwhile, are currently projected to take on the USC Trojans in the Alamo Bowl, while the Texas A&M Aggies are slated to take on the Michigan St. Spartans in the Gator Bowl.

No. 16 Texas A&M recovered from a disappointing loss to LSU by going on the road and dismantling Auburn, beating the Tigers 63-21 on Saturday night.

The Aggies (6-2, 3-2) got off to yet another explosive start, leading 28-0 less than two minutes into the second quarter. The Tigers would respond with a touchdown of their own on the following possession, with Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel leading the offense on two more scoring drives in the first half.

Holding a 42-7 lead after 30 minutes, Manziel would play just over a half in the game before Jamaal Showers came into the game in relief. Auburn would eventually score 21 points in the game, but not before the Aggies added 21 more in the second half.

The dominant performance by the road team would lead Ranger222 of Good Bull Hunting to wax poetic about the high level of competence the Aggies have shown in their first season in the SEC:

These boys, just like every single weekend, came to play. That has to be the most encouraging thing to take away from the entire season -- the effort displayed by Texas A&M every single Saturday. In the first year with a head coach, that is what you want to see. Yes, we have come up short against Florida and LSU, and had some missteps against Ole Miss and Louisiana Tech on the road that almost cost us. But the Aggies have been well-prepared for every game, come out playing on fire, and given us a chance to win every single game. There is nothing more you can ask. That is a sign of a well-coached team. The SEC and the rest of the country better be watching what is going on in Aggieland. It will be a national story in due time.

The Aggies have two more tough tests on their schedule, starting with No. 15 Mississippi State on Nov. 3. Texas A&M will play No. 1 Alabama on Nov. 10.

The Texas A&M Aggies handled Auburn rather easily this week and they move up to No. 16 in this week's AP Poll.

Texas A&M responded well to a loss on Oct. 20 to LSU by coming out and dismantling the Auburn Tigers, 63-21, on Saturday. The win was impressive enough that voters moved the Aggies up to No. 16 in this week's AP Poll -- a six-spot boost from last week.

A&M scored the first 21 points of the game against Auburn and never looked back. Freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel threw for two touchdowns and ran in three more as he continued his stellar freshman campaign.

Meanwhile, up top, Alabama stayed at No. 1 by crushing Mississippi State. No. 2 Oregon cruised to a 70-14 victory over an over-matched Colorado.

Elsewhere in the SEC, Florida lost to Georgia and the Bulldogs are now ranked higher than the Gators at No. 7. Florida comes in at No. 8.

Rutgers dropped out of the top 25 after losing to Kent State for its first loss of the year.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel accounted for five touchdowns in a 63-21 rout of host Auburn.

The Texas A&M Aggies (6-2, 3-2 SEC) pummeled the host Auburn Tigers (1-7, 0-6) on Saturday, winning 63-21 behind the continued stellar play of Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Manziel ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more before being given the night off early in the second half. Manziel led the Texas A&M offense for eight possessions, ending in seven Aggies touchdowns. The only non-scoring drive was the result of a missed 48-yard field goal to end the first half.

The story, obviously, was the offensive display put on by the Aggies. SB Nation's Texas A&M blog Good Bull Hunting has more, with a special Halloween-spin:

KLIFF KINGSBURY IS GENE CHIZIK'S FREDDY KRUEGER -- After the Tiger defensive coaching staff leaves the stadium tonight, they will be looking over their shoulder for the monster that is Kliff Kingsbury. Statistically, this was the worst Auburn defensive performance in their history totaling 672 total yards. Let me repeat that -- WORST IN THEIR PROGRAM HISTORY. Auburn gave up 63 points on the night -- the second most to only Georgia Tech in 1917 when freaking John Heisman was coaching. I have been pretty critical of Kingsbury and his offensive play calling, but he put his doubters to rest tonight.

Texas A&M will take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs next Saturday. Mississippi State is coming off a 38-7 loss this weekend to No. 1 Alabama. It will be the second of three straight SEC road contest for the Aggies. Texas A&M will face Alabama two weeks from now.

The No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies ran all over Auburn Tigers, defeating the Tigers 63-21 on the way to their sixth win of the season.

Quarterback Johnny Manziel was once again the story for the Aggies, as he played a primary role in all three of Texas A&M’s first quarter scores. Manziel threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Aggies carried a 21-0 lead into the second quarter.

Auburn managed to get on the board before halftime, but Texas A&M scored three more times and entered the break with a 42-7 advantage.

Tigers quarterback Jonathan Wallace led his team to two touchdowns in the third quarter, throwing for a pair of scores, but it didn’t put a dent in the Aggies lead as they continued to pour it on.

Box Score Hero: Manziel had a huge game, completing 16 of his 23 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns and racking up 90 yards and three scores on nine carries.

Rankings Ramifications: Texas A&M will move into the Top 20 with their easy victory over Auburn.

But Did They Cover? The Aggies entered the game favored by 15.5 points, so they were able to cover handily.

The Texas A&M Aggies maintained the significant lead they carried into the second half, as they head into the final quarter with a 56-21 advantage over the Auburn Tigers.

After a three-and-out by Auburn, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel lead the Aggies down the field in four plays for a score. Manziel racked up 47 yards passing on the drive and scored with his feet on a 20-yard run.

Auburn answered with their second touchdown of the game. Tigers quarterback Jonathan Wallace ran three yards and completed his first two passes of the contest, the second a 27-yard touchdown to wide receiver C.J.
The No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies got well on their way towards covering the 14-point spread in their favor with an offensive explosion led by Johnny Manziel that gave them a 42-7 lead over the Auburn Tigers after the first half.

On the opening drive of the game, Manziel threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Swope. It was the first of two touchdown connections between the two in the first quarter, as Manziel hit Swope for a 19-yard touchdown just over nine minutes later. Between the two touchdown passes, though, Manziel got a score of his own, rushing in to the end zone from six yards.

Christine Michael made it a 28-point lead with a 34-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but Auburn closed the gap with a one-yard touchdown run by Tre Mason. That gap expanded back to 28, though, as Manziel rushed in for the second time in the half, this time from two yards out, before a 7-yard touchdown run by Ben Malena pushed the lead to 35.

After the first half, Manziel has 230 yards passing and leads the Aggies with 70 yards rushing.
