Christine Michael Is Underrated As An NFL Prospect

Former Beaumont West Brook and current Texas A&M running back Christine Michael was the first Rivals 5-star recruit since Martellus Bennett to sign with the Aggies and only the fourth since 2002 to sign there.

Since then, Michael has racked up over 2,000 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground for A&M. That included over 800 yards his freshman season and over 700 all-purpose yards this year.

Michael has a lot to like in an NFL prospect. He's got good speed, can run through the middle and get tough yards plus has good hands and can help out in the passing game. Last year, he had overtaken Cyrus Gray as the starter before suffering a season-ending broken leg against Kansas. Gray finished last year strongly, winning the job to start this year, but he has been unable to keep Michael off the field.

Since he's just a junior, there is a chance Michael can come back next year, but with the Aggie offense losing quarterback Ryan Tannehill and receiver Jeff Fuller, Michael may jump to the NFL draft early. If he does, there is a good chance he moves into the conversation as one of the top backs in the draft.
