The Texas A&M Aggies decided to use their rushing attack to thwart off any comeback attempt by the Iowa St. Cyclones. The rushing attack was seldom used in the first half but by the end of the game both Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael rushed for over 100 yards each. Michael had 142 yards and a score while averaging 7.9 yards per carry and Gray had 139 yards and averaged 6.3 yards per carry.
The Cyclone offense could not stop the time consuming rushing attack in the second half to mount a comeback in this game. Quarterback R/yan Tannehill had a solid game as well with two touchdowns and threw for 249 yards.
Iowa State benched starting quarterback Steele Jantz after he had four incompletions, sacked and threw an interception. He was replaced by Jared Barnett who was not all that effective himself by going 16-for-36 for 180 yards.
Next week Texas A&M takes on the Missouri Tigers.
