Texas A&M already has 23 players committed, adding three recently from Blinn College in Brenham. The former home to Cam Newton has some notoriety for that, for winning a national championship and for being the former home of Dennis Franchione's son, Brad.
↵Now, new head coach Ronnie Feldman seems to have some of his stars heading to Texas A&M, where he coached previously. Feldman (who was also a special teams coach way back when at The Woodlands HS) has been doing well for the Buccaneers, but the Aggies continue to add impressive depth to their system.
↵The most intriguing of the guys they got commitments from recently (RB Marion Grice and LB Eddie Porter) is defensive tackle Logan David. The 6-foot-4 freshman played at Rockdale, which is a stone's throw away from College Station. David is a big guy who really did well against Class 3A competition, but didn't really get any big-time offers, so he went the junior college route. I remember talking to a friend of mine who covered him and he just raved about David's ability, his size and his disruptiveness.
↵Junior college guys can be hit or miss, but I'd look for David to have an impact on the Aggie defense next year and may prove a good transition from Tony Jerod-Eddie and Eddie Brown.
